Lighting Including Warranty
Our lighting ranges all accept 1 x E27 Edison LED screw bulbs, up to a maximum 12w and are tested to IP44 for outdoor and bathroom use, as well as interior standards. Note, some 'Bespoke' options include materials which are only suitable for interior use. Exterior products are manufactured in 316 stainless steel and aluminium and interior products in Zintec. Our lighting is manufactured in the UK and each fitting is assembled to order. Due to the method of manufacture faint 'witness marks' may be visible where the construction is welded together. A 'witness mark' is a small bump where the weld takes place. This will not affect the performance or durability of the product and typically will not be seen once the fitting is installed. For a copy of the IP44 compliant standard IEC 60598-2-1 test report, please contact us. For specific product information, advice to customers and our terms of sale relating to these products, please go to the TECH SPEC link on each lighting page. This contains technical information as well as product and order information which will better enable customer's to decide if these products are suitable for their requirements. Our lighting collection is covered by a 24 month warranty from the date of shipping. This covers the operation of our light fittings, construction and finish. Any variation to the fitting and or the use of incorrect lamps, replacement components, such as connection box etc or damage to the fitting caused by the customer or their installer will void our warranty. For a warranty claim we require the fitting to be returned to us at the customers' cost for evaluation. If a warranty claim is approved, we will repalce the fitting, or the part which has failed at no charge and cover the reasonable cost of returning the fitting by the customer. We will not cover any consequantial costs, including the removal and refitting of the product.
Safety Advice
We recommend that you use a qualified and certified electrician to install any of our electrical products. This will ensure your safety and those of others. Please consult a qualified electrician before purchase to ensure our fittings are appropriate for use.
Planters Including Warranty
Our collection of planters have been chosen for their design style and durability and are either manufactured in steel, or a combination of steel and aluminium. To protect them, they are either finished in a zinc coating, followed by a hand finished patinated coating, or a durable powder coating. Although we have gone to great lengths to ensure the finish is robust, rough handling and damage to the surface finishes could result in premature ageing and deterioration. Please be aware that cast aluminium components, such as the Versailles Planter posts may show tool marks, there may also be variation in the consistency of the moulding details. This is the nature of our manufacturing process and will not affect the strength or integrity of the item. Due to the nature and use of planters, we do not offer any warranty on the finish of our planters, but we do offer a 12 month warranty from the date of shipping against any failure in the construction of our planters. We ask that customers' wishing to make a warranty claim send us clear pictures of the issues they are concerend about and we will reply with our observations and agree a resolution if the claim is accepted. We will not cover any consequantial costs, including the removal and refitting of the product.
Patina, Colour Variation and Staining on Zinc Products including Planters and Sculptural Objects
Our products are finished with either a powder coated finish, or hand applied patinated coating. Our zinc products are designed to remain outdoors all year round, however, the hand applied coating may change colour and develop an aged patina. This is perfectly natural and will not affect the integrity of the product. Because the products are hand made and finished, no two products will be identical and may change colour at different rates. If at any point in the future you wish to refresh the look of the product, or change its colour, you can have the item gently shot or sand blasted and apply a zinc primer and paint of your choice.
Staining
The patinated coating process on our zinc products includes the removal of excess finish, however some residue may remain and this may wash out over time. Care should therefore be taken not to place these products on any surface where discolouration may be an issue. If you wish to position our products on stone slabs, or walls, we recommend thoroughly washing out the inside of the products with soapy water, however some residue may remain. You may also find that a white powder appears on the surface of the zinc products when they are new and in wet conditions. This is a reaction between the zinc coating and outdoor conditions and will wash away over time as the product continues to be exposed to the elements. You can wipe the item with a wet cloth, but we do not recommend using brushes, or chemical cleaners. Additionally, items manufactured from steel will be susceptible to rust which may stain the surfaces they are located on. Siting of steel planters or sculptural objects on hard surfaces such as patios, may result in premature rusting as the finish on the bottom edge of the products can be scrapped off, exposing raw metal. We suggest placing steel based products on a 'sacrificial' pad, or slab which can be replaced should marks appear.
Sign Planter and Decor Patterns
The sign planter range and decor patterns require a special back panel to accommodate the sign and decor panels. You can retro fit these to any of the Versailles planters, but remember to include the special back panel when ordering the sign or decor panel. The signs are produced on special aluminium composite panels with a 'weatherguard' film. This results in a durable fade resistant sign with a 3 year warranty. Please contact us for information about creating your sign panel.
Cleaning our Planters, Sculptural Objects and Lighting
Before cleaning any product which is connected to an electrical supply, please turn off the power at the fuse board or disconnect the item before cleaning to avoid any danger of electrocution. Special care should be taken when cleaning the lighting to avoid saturation of the electrical connections. Accordingly we recommend using a damp lint free cloth and under no circumstances jet wash our products. Allow the product to dry thoroughly before reconnecting it to an electrical supply. If you have any concerns, please contact us, or an approved electrician. If our products have dirt or bird poop on them for example, we recommend cleaning them with warm soapy water, taking particular precautions for electrical items as noted above. For finger prints and light cleaning, we suggest a non smear spray cleaner, lightly sprayed on a lint free cloth. We have found the best cleaner is 'Spritz' by Auto Finesse. Do not scrub the surfaces or use any abrasive cleaning pads or products, as these may result in damage to the surface finish.
Sculptural Objects
Our sculptural objects are produced in the same way and with the same finishes as our zinc planter collections. Please refer to the information on planters for product care, handling and cleaning. Please ensure our sculptural products are securely located, either with discrete ties, or other suitable fixings, or positioned in a safe situation to avoid them moving, or being knocked over. Our stone sculpture are available in alternative coloured aggregates. Due to the particular requirements of lifting and positioning this item, please consult us before ordering.
Handling
Many of our products are heavy and awkward to lift and carry. Please see the individual product pages for weights and take care to lift or move the planters in a way that is both safe and will avoid damage to the product. If you are placing the planters, or sculptures in an elevated position, please ensure the surface is level and firm and above all will not cause risk to you or anyone else.
Dealing with Damaged Goods
Whilst every care is taken with packing your order, transit handling is outside of our control. When you receive your order, if you believe that the outer cardboard carton or outer packaging is damaged, please take a picture before unpacking the item, showing the damage. Sign for the goods with the comment “packaging damaged, contents not inspected”. Carefully open the packaging and remove the product. If the item is damaged, you will need to retain the packaging so that the damaged item can be collected. In the case of a damaged item, please take a series of pictures showing the damage and email these with a brief description of the damage to sales@cressidaandrose.com. We will respond promptly and agree a solution to resolve the issue with you.
Our Terms Of Sale
The following sets out the terms and conditions upon which we supply products to you. Where you are buying products as a consumer, these terms and conditions do not affect your legal rights:
Order Acceptance
- If we accept your order, we will send you a confirmation of this by email. The receipt of an email order confirmation by you constitutes our acceptance of an order and the conclusion of a contract between us to sell the goods you have ordered, subject to these terms (the "Contract"). You should retain that email for your records. Whereas, following such acceptance, we will always seek to meet the requirements of your order, there may be circumstances following confirmation where we are unable to ship products due to unavailability (of which we were not aware at the time of confirmation of the order). If that is the case, we will notify you as soon as possible and will refund the money for the unavailable products. If the payment process has not begun at that time, the money for such products will not be sought, or taken out of your account or from your card. Our acceptance does not therefore guarantee and is subject to the availability of products following the receipt of the confirmation email by you.
Our Products

If we identify an error that materially impacts your confirmed order, we will notify you as soon as possible and will provide you with the option of cancelling your order in full or the part(s) of your order affected by the misinformation. If you make such a cancellation, the money for the cancelled part of your order will be refunded (or will not be taken at all if the payment process has not begun at that time).
Customer’s Responsibility

Delivery
– Typical methods and costs of delivery are as shown within our quotation and invoice(s). We will give you an estimated date for delivery prior to taking payment and we will endeavour to deliver any products ordered within the estimated period and will deliver your order within 30 days of the Contract date unless otherwise agreed with you as stated in our email order confirmation (see Order Acceptance, above). Please note that all products require a signature as proof of delivery.
Delivery may be delayed due to circumstances outside of our control. If this occurs, we will notify you as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. We shall have no liability for delays.
In the event of a failed delivery to you, our courier may re-attempt delivery, leave your delivery with a neighbour or in a safe place outside of your home or leave you a card or contact you to re-arrange delivery. In such event, we may charge you for storage costs and further delivery costs. If we are unable to contact you to re-arrange delivery, we may end the Contract.
Risk and Ownership
– You will be responsible for the products from the time we deliver the products to you at the stipulated delivery address. You will own the product once we have received payment in full for that product.
